“Smokefree” signage available free to members
The Iowa Smokefree Air Act goes into effect July 1, 2008. This law requires that “smokefree” signs be placed at every entrance to a public place or place of employment where smoking is not allowed, and at every entrance to an outdoor area where smoking is not allowed. Signs must also be posted in public vehicles and in vehicles owned, leased or provided an employer.
The East Des Moines Chamber has a limited number of window-cling signs available free of charge to members. Clings measure about 4×6 inches in size. If you would like one or more, please call or write the Chamber office at 283-9312 or info@edmchamber.org. Note that licensed bar and restaurant members with food and/or liquor licenses will receive signage through the mail from the Iowa Department of Public Health.
