East Des Moines Chamber hires Executive Director

Apr 18th, 2008 by admin | 0

Janet Green, Executive DirectorThe East Des Moines Chamber of Commerce (EDMC) Board of Directors has hired Janet Green as its first full-time Executive Director, beginning May 15, 2008.  Janet is a Des Moines native and past president of the East Des Moines Chamber. She has worked as Community Marketing Director for the Greater Des Moines Partnership for the past eight years.

“As we approached this transition, our board discussed whether to create an entry level position or find someone who could be strategic in their leadership,” said Jim Goodman, President of the EDMC and President of Customer Ease/Emerging Growth Group. “The level of opportunity on the East Side really called for an experienced, strategic individual. We are very appreciative that the Partnership allowed us to take one of their valuable assets as our own, knowing it was in the best interest of East Des Moines and the Chamber.”

Janet, who is also a long-time East Side resident, said, “I’m thrilled to begin working on behalf of the East Des Moines Chamber. The East Side business community has had many successes, and there are many opportunities for future growth. I look forward to providing both leadership and support as the Chamber maximizes those opportunities for the benefit of the entire region.”
